About
The High Atlas, also known as the Grand Atlas, is a mountain range in central Morocco, North Africa. The High Atlas rises in the west at the Atlantic Ocean and stretches eastwards to the Moroccan-Algerian border.
Itinerary
Departing at 8am from Marrakech in a private SUV/4X4 you will begin your day trip with your experienced tour guide. First heading to the Ourika Valley approximately a one hour drive from Marrakech, famous for it’s waterfalls (if you want to visit these waterfalls you have to walk for around 1h30mins each way with a designated mountain guide)
Then continue through the second valley which is Oukaimden valley, taking a secluded mountain road route standing at 1800 metres above sea level, you will pass through traditional Berber villages built from adobe and stones. To discover the authentic life of Berber people we can arrange a delicious lunch for you in a Berber house.
Finally you will reach the third valley Asni, famous for it’s fruit trees. Here you can enjoy stunning views of the snow capped Atlas Mountains. The tour concludes with a drive back to Marrakech, arriving at approximately 5pm.
