Airport lounges are now very popular with the general public, as they offer both relaxation away from the busy departures hall and value for money. You can spend up to three hours in the lounge before boarding and it is an enjoyable experience. Nearly every time I fly somewhere, whether it be for a few days or a few weeks I try to use the airports lounge. Normally pre booking the service online, although you can pay on the door at most lounges.
Last week when I flew to Spain, I used the Aspire Lounge at Newcastle International Airport and this time I paid on the day. You pay a little more but it is well worth it. Normal pre booked prices for this lounge are £22.99 for an adult and £16.99 for children, on the day cost is £26 per adult. The prices are very good value for money, as drinking and eating in the main airport is very costly. The lounge offers you some peace and tranquility before you fly, as I don’t know about you but I find the whole airport experience stressful and hectic, the lounge offers you an escape for up to 3 hours. You are provided with food such as bacon sandwiches and pastries up till 11 am, in the afternoon there is normally a soup with rolls, cheese and biscuits, nuts, olives and crisps. Alongside coffee, tea, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages to drink. The opening hours are from 4.30 am to 8 pm 6 days a week and 4.30 till 6 pm on a Saturday. Aspire Lounge is open to everybody, whatever airline you are flying.
There is also a quiet zone area, away from the main lounge that you may use, where there are personal charging facilities for laptops and iPads etc.
If you wish to upgrade to AspirePlus Lounge, this is located in the same area as the Aspire Lounge but is separate. This is for adults only and offers premium alcoholic drinks from the exclusive Spey Whisky Bar, such as premium wines and beers and complimentary single malt Spey Whisky. A larger selection of hot and cold foods are available for all guests along with Private SnoozePods. Private charging facilities and private work rooms with free WiFi are available and are free of charge. The price for the AspirePlus is £37.49 per adult.
Why not try a lounge before your next flight and feel relaxed for your onward journey.
