2018 with Sostravel- Planning my Travels!

2018 is going to be a very exciting year for Sostravel and myself travel wise, as there are many firsts in visiting new countries and returning to places close to my heart. After a slight change of plans due to certain circumstances beyond my control, I have now resurrected the main travels for this coming year!

This month I will return to the ‘Red City’ of Marrakech to visit the recently opened Yves Saint Laurent Museum, the Heritage Museum and the Museum of Confluences. Alongside enjoying eating out at some of the recently opened restaurants in the city. I love Marrakech as you all know and I can’t wait!

In March I will take a short break in the Lake District near Lake Windermere, where I haven’t been for awhile. The Lakes are a beautiful area of the UK, to which I used to spend every Easter growing up with my parents, they hold such fond memories and it was a certainly ‘our’ special place. It was all about the world of Beatrix Potter back then for me, I thought the Lake District was so magical and I am thoroughly looking forward to exploring a little deeper this coming visit.

At the end of April I will depart for India, somewhere I have wanted to go for awhile now, taking a tour around the ‘Golden Triangle’. I am so happy to have booked this trip and I am currently researching as I speak. I think there will be many highlights, but the one place I cannot wait to see is the Taj Mahal in Agra. Do not fear there will be plenty photos!! The food is also going to be a real delight I am sure, as a real ‘foodie’ I will be thrilled to experience the Indian specialities.

July I am going to Malta and Gozo, after seeking inspiration at a recent travel show in Manchester called Destinations and speaking to the Malta tourist board team, I booked a trip. If anyone has been and has any great tips for me please get in contact, they will be greatly appreciated!

I am travelling to Tel Aviv, Israel in September, this will mean as well as enjoying the city itself I can explore a little further afield too and visit Jerusalem, Bethlehem and float in the Dead Sea. I have heard great things about Israel and I am thrilled to be taking a trip there this year.

Later in the year I hope to attend the TEDxMarrakech event in Marrakech itself, I am waiting to find out the exact dates to organise the trip. The TEDx events are “self organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience”, with live speakers and discussions.

To end 2018 and celebrate Christmas, I am currently looking at booking some travels for my family and I. Any recommendations welcome! I also hope to add in a few ‘bargain’ city breaks into the year, like I did last year, managing to fly to Geneva return for £29…. I will keep my eyes peeled.

Travelling is my number one passion and I hope through my own travel experiences, you will all be a little inspired or maybe gain a travel tip or two along the way. I also hope to be inspired by you!! If anyone would like to write a ‘guest blog’ about their travels I would be thrilled to hear from you. Email me @ Saminthesity@icloud.com

Here’s to new adventures. Happy travels & stay safe!

OMG Sam, I’m so jealous of your 2018 itinerary! I would love to visit the YSL Museum, so I’ll be looking out for that post 🙂 And definitely lots and lots of pics from India, please!

What an amazing year you have planned! We’re slowing down a little this year and staying closer to home. I want to see and explore all the cool little towns around me. We also have two bigger trips in the works. A roadtrip to Arkansas to see my mom. We will hit NOLA on the way out and Memphis on the way back. I also plan to explore areas around her, like Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. It’s our flyover state road trip. We have a big trip the NYC in December with my daughter’s bowling league too. I’m so excited about New York at Christmas. It’s going to be an incredible, education gift for our kiddos. I’m working on a U.K. Trip next year for my daughter’s 16 birthday too. Always lots of #travelgoals going on! I’m looking forward to following your adventures.
